A dynamic, visionary science educator, Rachael Goddard is committed to fostering sustainability.

Rachael Goddard has been a passionate environmental scientist and educator for over 17 years. As Sustainability & Environment Manager for the University of Waikato, she developed, delivers and reports on its sustainability strategy. She has engaged thousands on campus and in the community through education programmes, films, competitions, lectures, books and articles (including a regular Waikato Times column) on waste, recycling and water quality. Rachael set up the University’s Eco Emporium (an NZ first) and has secured significant funding for campus sustainability initiatives, gathering recognition and accolades in the process, including the Australasian Green Gown Award for Student Engagement in 2016. Rachael sits on two council advisory panels for waste minimisation, was a panelist for Hamilton City Council’s Sustainability Strategy and is on the board of Xtreme Waste in Raglan.
