Each spring, LIC dispatches up to 140,000 straws of bull semen per day to New Zealand farms. Neil Standley is responsible for seeing that this happens without a hitch. As well as taking care of production lab technicalities and support for AB teams, Neil is proactive about process and procedure improvements and a vital collaborator in R&D lab activity. He was instrumental in the Lab’s incorporation of a Computer Assisted Sperm Assessment system, which has made sperm assessment faster, more objective and more accurate. His research has been published and presented internationally and is held in high regard, not only for his technical skill but for his co-operative spirit, engaging communication and positivity.
