For many decades, Lynnette Rogers has been driving change and agency in grass roots science education.

Lynnette is currently educator for the Kukutaaruhe Education Trust, which supports science, Maatauranga Maaori, environmental and community learning through The Fairfield Project on the grounds of Fairfield College. Her work utilises gully restoration and community gardens to provide education for all ages in collaboration with Ngaati Wairere as mana whenua; the University of Waikato; Waikato-Tainui education and taiao teams; Otago Polytechnic, our city and regional councils, local schools and other community groups. This is the latest addition to an impressive science education career. Lynnette developed the Science Learning Hub’s online professional development resource; Fairfield College’s culturally responsive science pedagogy; helped many of the region’s schools integrate their sustainability and science education programmes; was an Enviroschools pioneer and is a respected researcher.
